This Quaich Bowl is made of the finest pewter and is handmade in the U.K. Pewterware is made entirely by the skilled hands of a pewtersmith. No two pieces of pewter are exactly the same, minor variations and imperfections show the mark of each craftsman reflecting the art and beauty of all individually made pieces - a break away from the modern machine world.
The word QUAICH is derived from the Gaelic word "Cuach", which means "shallow cup" or as we know it today, a "drinking cup". The Quaich originated in the Scottish Highlands centuries ago and became the favourite drinking cup throughout Scotland. Traditionally, the Quaich is used when offering a guest "the cup of welcome" and again for the farewell or parting drink. The simple but pleasingly distinctive design of the Quaich has remained unchanged over the centuries - a shallow bowl with two handles, known as "lugs". Originally made from wood, horn or leather, the Highland Quaich is now made of Pewter or Silver and is a popular gift and prized possession by many people who have an association with Scotland.

Due to personalisation, we will post your Quaich in 4-5 working days. Express Service (post within 3 working days) at an additional £3.95.
Please note that the Engraving Service/Production Time on our item descriptions refers to the time taken for us to engrave or produce the item before we post it - THIS IS NOT AN INDICATION OF WHEN YOU WILL RECEIVE IT.
On the Order Form you will have the option of choosing STANDARD OR EXPRESS Engraving Service or Production Time. This refers to the time taken for us to engrave or print the item (Express orders are given priority and posted sooner than Standard).
You will also need to choose your Delivery/Postal Method when you go to Checkout. Standard UK Economy postage is ROYAL MAIL STANDARD POST for most items (or see item description). You should choose Secure (signed-for) if you need a more secure, tracked and quicker delivery. We cannot be held responsible for delays beyond our control by delivery services. Please note that Standard Royal Mail post is NOT a guaranteed delivery time by Royal Mail. In the unlikely event of lost or delayed items by Royal Mail, we will instigate a claim with them, and replace or refund your order IF the item is not found, however Royal Mail will not allow a claim until 3 weeks after the date of posting.
FREE UK DELIVERY on cart value over £50 applies to most UK mainland addresses, apart from remote areas where we may have to charge for delivery. The free delivery will be by Economy P+P (standard Royal Mail). If you choose Secure (Tracked or Courier), for orders over £50 we will discount the postage. This discount is updated after you have chosen your delivery method at Checkout.
It may not be possible to deliver very heavy or fragile items to remote areas, including overseas, and we reserve the right to cancel and refund these orders if necessary. Please note that we only send to UK.
We will contact you to confirm delivery details, before engraving and despatching, if necessary.
GIFT WRAPPING SERVICE
If we are sending your gift directly to the recipient, for a small extra charge of £3.50 we can gift wrap your present, and add a handwritten gift card. Small items (jewellery etc) will be in a gift bag with gift card. (We won't include any invoice or receipt, of course). You can choose this option, and add gift card details, at Checkout. Please note that we are unable to gift wrap a few very large or bulky items, which will be mentioned on the item's description.
