Pewter Baby/Christening Welsh Love Spoon, 22cm ref BLS22

A high quality Pewter Welsh Love Spoon, hand cast by craftsmen.  Engraved in TWO positions; up to 25 characters on the large heart (i.e. baby's name), and the date (in number format i.e. 01.01.11) on the plain area just above the bowl of the spoon.

The custom of giving a Love Spoon originated in the 17th Century, when lovers would offer intricately carved lovespoons, bearing symbols of their feelings to their partners.  Love Spoons today are also given to commemorate any special occasion such as the birth of a new baby, or a Christening.

This is the larger of our two Baby Love Spoons.
